Soil remediation

Resource-saving and economical – the efficient solution to save costs

Remediation of a wide variety of soil types

Whether brittle screed, concrete floors, asphalt surfaces or tiles.

Accelerated production processes

Refurbished floors ensure a smooth flow of materials and prevent production downtime.

Maintaining the value of the property

Through carefully executed soil remediation.

Soil remediation

Is your floor showing clear signs of wear and tear and jeopardizing production processes? Are you worried about the high cost and effort of a complete floor replacement? Are you looking for an economical and environmentally friendly solution?

Imagine being able to restore the existing floor to a top condition that comes very close to a new floor.

Instead of replacing the entire floor covering, we renew the existing structure, which results in considerable material and cost savings. Soil remediation saves you money and protects the environment. Your production processes continue to run smoothly and you can be sure that your floor meets the highest standards.

Advantages

R

Intact floors avoid future repair costs

R

Strength and elasticity thanks to the materials used, such as the SIPU epoxy resin floor, which prevent cracking, spalling and damage

R

Improved safety and hygiene in the workplace thanks to minimized tripping hazards and easier cleaning of intact floors

R

The modernization of the appearance ensures an aesthetic upgrade of the premises

R

Increasing the value of the property, as a high-quality floor covering increases the attractiveness of the property for potential buyers or tenants

Procedure (example refurbishment with epoxy resin)

R

Preparation of the substrate

The floor is smoothed by grinding or shot blasting.

R

Adhesive primer

Apply a suitable epoxy resin bonding bridge to improve the adhesion of the epoxy resin.

R

Coating

The prefabricated epoxy resin is applied evenly to the prepared substrate.

R

Individualization

The color and surface finish of the coating can be individually adapted to the requirements.

R

Curing

The epoxy resin hardens according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

R

Fast drying time

The newly laid SIPU epoxy resin floor can be walked on again after just 12 hours.

Important information on soil remediation

When renovating floors, it is crucial that a specialist consultant carries out a thorough analysis of the subfloor. This is the only way to determine whether the floor is hollow or gives way under load. We always carry out a professional assessment of your floor in advance. As a matter of principle, we refrain from construction projects in which a necessary subfloor renovation is to be postponed and we are only to cosmetically overhaul the floor. We can only provide the usual five-year warranty in accordance with Section 634a of the German Civil Code (BGB) for floors that have been thoroughly and professionally refurbished.

If necessary subsoil remediation is postponed, the soil can become increasingly brittle with increasing use. A brittle floor not only leads to safety risks, but also to higher maintenance costs. In such cases, in extreme cases the entire floor must be completely removed and rebuilt at great expense in order to ensure long-term stability and safety.

Total refurbishment: When and why?

A total renovation is necessary if the floor has fundamental structural problems that affect not only its appearance, but also its functionality and safety. Typical signs of the need for a total renovation are

R

Surface peeling

If the surface is peeling off, this indicates that the upper load-bearing floor, such as magnesite screed or mineral fillers, has become permeable and has lost its stability.

R

Oil stains on mastic asphalt

Oil stains that show the first signs of dissolution in the surface of the mastic asphalt are a clear sign that the material has been attacked and weakened.

R

Sticky floor

Sticky soil is often an indication of chemical reactions or material degradation that affect the structure and usability of the soil.

R

Cracks

Cracks in the floor are not only unsightly, but can also indicate deeper damage that jeopardizes the stability of the entire floor.

In such cases, comprehensive remediation is essential to ensure the safety and longevity of the floor. At SIPU, we carry out thorough analyses to identify the causes of the damage and offer customized solutions that enable long-term and reliable restoration.

Sustainability

Refurbishing a floor with a sustainable material such as SIPU epoxy resin flooring can have a positive impact on the carbon footprint. By reusing and processing existing floors instead of replacing them completely, resources can be saved and waste reduced. In addition, epoxy resin floors are durable and require less frequent replacement compared to traditional flooring, further reducing overall energy consumption and environmental impact. The use of environmentally friendly cleaning systems and the selection of materials with low emissions during production also contribute to sustainability. By refurbishing a floor with a SIPU epoxy resin floor, companies can not only reduce their operating costs, but also make a contribution to environmental protection and reduce their ecological footprint.
